Andrea Huyoff (Head)

Andrea Huyoff studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and graduated from the Universität der Künste in Berlin in 2005. She brings more than 20 years of experience focusing on contemporary art using digital media, specializing in the communication of visual ideas through computer, digital camera and hybrid practices with a base in photography and film as a medium for creating art. Trained in analog photography, film, sculpture and painting, she has experience as a cinematographer, in editing and post-production. Ilka Forst

Studies and master of fine arts at HdK Berlin (in the class of Prof. Katharina Sieverding). Subsequently postgraduate studies art in context (HdK), where I later was appointed a lectureship for photography. Many jobs and experiences in multimedia, such as stage design in theatre, web-, print- and graphic design. 2001-2011 employee at multimedia agency 4ground GmbH (educational computer software), responsible for animation, color design and editing. Since 2013 a lot of commissions for video editing and post production for several artists and musicians (documental, performance, experimental art and music videos). Moreover work as a lecturer and coach for video editing. In addition multiple art-, video- and sound projects with children plus adults in cooperation with schools, other educational establishments and art academies. The main focus of my art lies in conceptual, temporarily installations, photography, drawings and computer animation, combining text-/ sound fragments with different media in an experimental, associative way. Participations in exhibitions and festivals. Since 2011 a member of the team at Medienwerkstatt.

Jo Zahn

Studied visual communication/film at the University of Fine Arts, Hamburg. For him, artistic production is closely connected with collaboration and debate within groups and collective structures, including Abbildungszentrum (Hamburg), tv-tv (Copenhagen), Galerie C&V (Hamburg/ Berlin). Based on documentary working methods, the focus is often on a reflection of media systems and artistic discourses. Since 2007 head of film workshops at the Kurzfilmschule Hamburg and since 2012 member of the Medienwerkstatt team.

Manfred Miersch

Studied visual arts by Dieter Appelt (HdK-Berlin, working there as a video tutor) and Franz Erhard Walther (HfBK-Hamburg). Specialist for analog sound synthesis and modular synthesizers. Experience with studio and live audio technology, operator of the record label "Krautopia", CD and vinyl production, website design, graphic layout, photo editing and film editing. Guitarist in punk bands, sound performances, learning to play the Theremin by Andre Smirnov and Lydia Kavina, founding of the ensemble "atelierTheremin", teaching assignments at the UdK Berlin, composition commissions, etc. by the rbb, lectures and workshops, journalistic work for specialist magazines and encyclopedias, international recognition as rediscoverer and promoter of the "Subharchord", independent development and organization of event series (including the legendary Berlin Zodiak Club), member of the "initiative neue musik berlin e.V.", exhibitions in Germany and abroad.
